What does the Rotary Club of Gettysburg do?

The Rotary Club of Gettysburg participates in many community service projects, including:

  • The Adopt-A-Highway program for a section of Route 30
  • Manage and organize car parking at the Gettysburg Fire Dept. Carnival
  • Rings the bell for the Salvation Army's Holiday Kettle Campaign
  • Assembles meals with Ruth’s Harvest for low income families
  • Presents the annual Eisenhower Humanitarian Award to an outstanding local resident
  • Sponsors the 4 Way Test Essay Contest with local high school students
  • Participates in the Rotary Leaders Conference
  • Distributes dictionaries to third grade students in Gettysburg area
  • Presents four college scholarships annually
  • Completes an annual matching fund improvement project for the community


The Community Fund

The Rotary Club of Gettysburg's Community Fund was established by the club to provide grants to non-profit organizations that serve the needs of and improve the quality of life for the communities of Gettysburg, Fairfield, Biglerville, Arendtsville and surrounding areas in Adams County. The fund is also used to benefit certain international projects.

Fundraising Events.Each year, the Rotary Club of Gettysburg holds several fundraisers to support our financial giving, those include: concerts and other events at the Majestic theater, our Annual Lobster Dinner, parking at the Gettysburg Fireman’s Carnival, the Fall Scholarship Fundraiser, and other important projects.

For the year, over $15,000 will be awarded. Past recipients include:

Community Fund Grant Applications

We welcome all local 501(c)(3) organizations to apply for our annual community fund grants. Applications are due Wednesday, March 1, 2017 by 4:30 pm, a post mark of March 1, 2017 or earlier will also be acceptable. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
