Invocation and Song
Stephen Fill led us in prayer.

All veterans in attendance were recognized at the front of the room while we sang a medley of the Armed Forces songs.
50/50 (Draw a Card)
Game of chance
Larry Redding won the drawing but did not draw the Queen of Hearts. The pot will grow to more than $353.00 for the next drawing on November 19. It seems that we've had 18 cards drawn already, so there should be 34 remaining (the jokers were tossed). The chances are getting better for someone to win a large jackpot!

Garthwait Leadership Center

Andrew Hughes, Director of the Gettysburg College Garthwait Leadership Center informed Rotarians on the history, goals and ideals behind the center. According to Hughes, lack of leadership is the number one problem cited by employers within their workforces. Hughes said it is up to leadership institutes like the one at Gettysburg College to build and instill responsible leadership skills in today’s students. The Garthwait Institute was founded in 2010 with a $1 million gift and currently it serves over 1,000 Gettysburg College students and 100 young alumni each year. Students at the college do not receive academic credit for taking part in the leadership institute but do it for what it instills in them when they complete the work at the institute. Hughes is proud of what he and his co-workers have created at the leadership institute in its first eight years of existence. Hughes said the goal of the institute is to “create an unparalleled leadership development experience”.
