Please note the corrected date of the Lobster Dinner committee meeting; April 11, 2019 at Gettysburg Eddies.
The previous notice of a meeting on April 18 was actually for the committee meeting about the next new fundraiser. Deb Geesey introduced our speakers for today. They are Mark Chester, pastor of the Four Square Church on Middle Street and John Harmon, retired CIO of the US Government Accountability Office. Their topic was the Global Leadership Summit that will take place in Chicago, IL, in August. The Four Square Church is a partner in this endeavor.
Pastor Chester has learned to become a better leader, especially in the area of staffing with a definite increase in the number of employees for the church. Leading off today, he showed a brief video on the work of the Global Leadership Summit that will be live-streamed to the Four Square Church in August. Pastor Chester explained the purpose of the Summit which, in essence, is to foster leadership traits within the Gettysburg community.
John Harmon outlined the qualities of leadership, making reference to his work within the Civil Service and other areas for a period of 48 years. John has taught courses on leadership and management to both federal and non-federal organizations.
Updated information for this year’s Summit will be available within the month. Registration will be through the auspices of the Four Square Church with a cost to each person of approximately $140. You should contact Pastor Chester if you wish more information on this event.
