United Lutheran Seminary
Dr. Richard Green, interim president of the United Lutheran Seminary, provided some up to date information regarding the seminary to club members who gathered in the Eisenhower Room at the Gettysburg Hotel.
Dr. Green came out of retirement to assist the Seminary, which has campuses in Gettysburg and Philadelphia, as its searches for a new president. The Seminary has gone through what Green referred to as an “exciting” year. He will be leaving the seminary in December to return to retirement with his wife in Tucson, AZ. Dr. Green told Rotary members of the $30 million gift given to the seminary that will allow all seminarians to attend the school tuition free going forward. The gift was a restricted one and only applies to tuition for future seminarians, as such Dr. Green is still out fundraising to pay for day-to-day operations and expenses. Interim President Green said attendance at the Seminary is up this year with 350 students and 66 new students taking part in the classes at the school.
